Jacks Bay/Jills Bay/Te Hurihi Bay (Dicks Bay): – Follow paths and steps through beautiful native bush to our great local swimming beaches.

Ngaiotonga (Russell) State Forest: 
Ancient Kauri rain forest walks. Awesome nature at it’s best highlighting our unique fauna, flora and our huge endemic Kauri trees up to 900 years old. You will be wowed!
Whangamumu Whaling Station:
A 2 - 2 1/2hr return walk across farm land through native bush over hill to stunning Whangamumu Bay where you can walk amongst the ruins of an old whaling station, go for a swim or just relax and enjoy the surroundings.
Walks: Within 20 mins drive from our B & B
Cape Brett Walkway:
Only for experienced, fit trampers – 6 – 7 hrs one way. We suggest you stay the night in DOC hut or get a water taxi back to Russell/our B & B. Walking & Hut fees apply.
Elliots Bay:
Local surf beach. Coastal walk on beaches and across private/public land. Parking - honesty box for crossing private land to gain access to beach.
Opua – Paihia Coastal Walkway:
An approximately 2 ½ hr walk one way along coastal paths through mangroves on board walk, around beaches.
Russell Heritage Walk:
Meandering walk around seaside Russell highlighting this historic township. Recommend a visit to Flagstaff Hill for spectacular Bay of Island views and historic flagpole – steep walk up and down!
Local Tours:
Pompallier Mission House – Hour long tour of oldest Catholic building in NZ. See original Tannery in stages ending with the hand binding of leather bound books.
Russell Museum – NZ Maori and European history. 1/5th replica Captain Cooks Endeavour sailing ship inside.
Fullers Bay of Islands – Cruises to suit everyone from the adrenaline “Excitor” to gentle Dolphin watching.
Waitangi Treaty Grounds – Where the Treaty was signed in 1840. Walking tour, Culture Show highlighting our Maori history, customs and culture.
